Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced that Malta could become the site of a Ukrainian grain distribution facility for the North African market during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. Poroshenko also highlighted that the Ukrainian Antonov aircraft company is willing to open an office in Malta.
A memorandum of understanding was signed on the 8th of May between Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology (MCAST) and Malta Maritime Forum (MMF) to strengthen collaboration and facilitate the upgrading of technical skills among maritime industry employees.
A €55 million investment is set to transform the ex-Malta Shipbuilding site into a service hub for the oil and gas industry, directly employing 160 people while paving the way for Malta to benefit from growing business in the Mediterranean region.
